Every aspect of Content Design makes me happy.
I spent 10 years as a copywriter and content manager in retail marketing, before feeling burnt out from constantly trying to sell people things. I wrote blogs, ads, commercials, webpages, omni-channel national sales campaigns, emails, banners, catalogs, articles, white pages… you name it, I wrote it. It eventually started to feel robotic to constantly need to churn out copy and content on demand. My heart wasn’t in it anymore and I really wanted to find something that I could get excited about waking up and doing every morning. Enter content design…
I have yet to find an aspect of content design that I don’t enjoy. The tasks that I find challenging, are exciting and I genuinely enjoy solving difficult UX problems. Since becoming a content designer, I’ve had to immerse myself in various journeys and products to better understand their value to users. I’ve also helped create prototypes, tried out UX design, helped with user research, made connections with key stakeholders, and presented findings to large groups of people. I’ve helped create a style guide and playbooks. I’m glad to have found the thing that I can get excited about waking up and doing every morning. Every aspect of content design makes me happy.
